(By Xiaobin Feng)With the approval of the National Publication Foundation of China (NPFC) management committee, the project of "Precision Liver Surgery (Treatise and Multimedia Digital Publications)", led by Prof. Jiahong Dong, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, is granted the key project funding of NPFC of 2018.
Professor Jiahong Dong, an internationally renowned expertise in hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation, first introduced the concept of "Precision Surgery" with the core principles of "Three key elements, Systematic intervention". He created the precision hepatobiliary surgery paradigm characterized by certainty, predictability, and controllability, and proposed a series of techniques for localization, quantification, spatialization, as well as precisely control in hepatobiliary operation, which significantly improved the efficacy of surgical treatment for complex hepatobiliary diseases. The precision hepatobiliary surgery paradigm he proposed and advocated is now wide-recognized by the international surgery community and has been promoted to the entire surgery field as well as other clinical scenarios. The new paradigm has driven the evolutionary transition from traditional empirical surgery to modern precision surgery.
This book is the first treatise on the theory and practice of precision liver surgery in the world.
