On January 27th, a total of 11 of medical staff of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital affiliated to Tsinghua University, set out from Beijing to Wuhan! Life is of paramount importance! Where there is an epidemic, there is an order! In less than 24 hours, three physicians and eight nurses from departments of respiratory and critical care medicine, infectious diseases, intensive care medicine, emergency medicine, general internal medicine and other departments, assembled quickly together to join into the Beijing medical support team boarding flights to Wuhan to fight against the COVID-19 epidemic!
Among the 11 team members, Dr. Hua Zhou, deputy chief of the Department of Intensive Care Medicine, is an experienced physician.She did not hesitate when the order was given. "I will remember my duty as a doctor and work hard to guarantee to fulfil the task." Hua Zhou said. Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine is a key department to fight against the epidemic. Dr. Jun Guo, Deputy Chief Physician of Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, was designated to lead the medical team of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital. He was experienced in fighting with SARS in 2003. After settling down a pair of children at home, Jun Guo rushed back to hospital immediately. Because the time is urgent, his father-in-law helped him pack up and take the luggage to meet together in the hospital. Dr. Xiaohui Wang, a resident physician of Department of Infectious Diseases, has been undertaking the work of response hotline of epidemic prevention and control in the hospital. He volunteered his services to the department chief, expressed his willingness to support Wuhan, and before his left, he was still talking with his colleagues about the shift state of the patients he was in charge.
Eight nurses of the nursing department, were assembled from related department of epidemic disease. Some of them just become a mom, with their children just a few years old. They first sent their children home, put down the children's care and resolutely rushed to Wuhan. Some are not yet married, one youngest among the team is 25 years old, and she has just finished her Spring Festival shift. In order to support Wuhan, she silently returned the ticket back home. Some of them were still students at school when SARS came in 2003. But now they are on the front line of the epidemic in Wuhan. "Are you afraid?" "There will be some, but it's more about hoping everyone to be safe and Wuhan needs us."
At the pre-departure supervisory meeting, Yuehong Zhou, Secretary of the Party Committee, Jiahong Dong, Executive President, and the core experts of the prevention and control team, ardently anticipate the white-clothed soldiers could be self-protected properly, and pay attention to medical cooperation, patient care, living and psychological adjustment. The 11-member medical team built a team and set up a temporary Party branch, Dr. Jun Guo was appointed as the Secretary of Party branch. All of them cooperate and care with each other. At the same time, the entire staff of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital is the most solid backup for the front-line team members, and provide full support for them.
