Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital (BTCH) affiliated to Tsinghua University is a non-profit comprehensive public institution jointly managed by both the Beijing Municipal Administration of Hospitals and Tsinghua University. During its construction, the hospital received a generous donation from the Formosa Plastics Group and Taiwan Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. The hospital is located in Tiantongyuan, Changping District in Beijing, and it officially opened on November 28th, 2014 with 1,500 beds available during the first stage of construction.The hospital became a designated National Medical Insurance hospital in November, 2015, and has been able to directly reimburse medical expenses remotely since June, 2017. On December 30, 2019, the second stage of construction was officially laid, with an additional 500 beds planned to be completed by the end of 2024.On November 25, 2021, the hospital officially became an A-class designated medical institution of the city’s basic medical insurance, and medical insurance personnel in Beijing can make settlements in realtime without choosing a designated medical institution.
