Tsinghua Changgung Wang Guihuai team and Tsinghua University Wang Xiumei, Wu Hui team cooperation project won "Gold with congratulations of the Jury" of International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva

  (Translated & Written by YU.Y.C) Recently, the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva came to an end. The project "NeuroCable: A nerve-like implant device constructing multifunction-integrated regenerative niche for nerve injury repair(hereinafter referred to as "Shensuo") won the "Gold with congratulations of the Jury" .The project was completed by the team of Wang Guihuai, director of the Nerve Center of Tsinghua Changgung Hospital affiliated to Tsinghua University in Beijing, and the team of Wang Xiumei, PI leader of the Biomaterials and regenerative Medicine Transformation team of the Wuzhen Laboratory, Tsinghua University, and the team of Wu Hui, School of Materials.

  

  Based on the international original multistage directional nanofiber hydrogel liquid electrospinning technology, bionic collagen nanofiber air spinning technology and molecular self-assembly nanotechnology, Shensuo is a developed multi-functional integrated original functional nerve regeneration and repair material. Shensuo is mainly aimed at the fields of nerve repair and functional reconstruction materials and high-end instrument transformation. Based on the existing nerve catheter products, through bionics and self-developed multi-modal biological functional materials, Shensuo builds a multi-functional integrated regeneration microenvironment, delivers multi-modal nerve regeneration regulatory signals, and collaboratively promotes the process of angiogenesis and nerve regeneration in multiple aspects. It can achieve rapid growth and functional reconstruction of injured nerves, and has demonstrated excellent ability to rapidly induce nerve regeneration and motor function recovery in rat, beagle dog and cynomophage monkey nerve injury.

  

   

  In addition, Shensuo has developed a new type of mineralized collagen composite nerve conduit based on bionic mineralized collagen nanofibers, which has excellent mechanical properties and biocompatibility. With its extensibility and iterability, Shenshou can develop multiple product forms for various clinical indications, which has great economic value and social significance.

  

  It is reported that the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions was founded in 1973, jointly organized by the Swiss federal government, the State government of Geneva, the municipal government of Geneva and the World Intellectual Property Organization, is one of the world's three major exhibition of inventions, and is also one of the world's longest and largest exhibition of inventions. At the invention exhibition, more than 800 exhibitors exhibited more than 1,000 invention projects from 40 countries , and the awards were divided into three levels of gold, silver and bronze. "Gold with congratulations of the Jury" was selected from the gold medal of the competition and was passed by the jury unanimously, which was the highest level award of online exhibition.
