（Translated By YU.Y.C.）On May 30th, the 20th Asian Congress of Neuro-Oncology ,which was jointly hosted by the Asian Society for Neuro-oncology (ASNO), the CSNO, the National Medical Center for Neurological Diseases (Huashan), and the Department of Neurosurgery of Huashan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University,was held in Shanghai. Yang Xuejun, the director of the Department of Neurosurgery at Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, was unanimously elected as the vice chairperson and incoming chairperson of ASNO. He will take over as the chairperson of ASNO for the academic year 2028-2029.

Yang Xuejun, the chairperson of the CSNO, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, extending a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the experts and scholars from Asia and around the world, as well as representatives of international organizations such as the Society forNeuro-Oncology Society (SNO) and the European Neuro-Oncology Society (EANO). Yang Xuejun pointed out that China's neuro-tumor research is actively integrating into the global system and has been making continuous progress in international clinical trials and innovative treatment strategies. The cooperation and support from international academic societies such as ASNO have greatly promoted the development of the discipline. He paid special tribute to the contributions of pioneering experts such as Academician Zhou Liangfu, Academician Bian Xiuwu and Academician Jiang Tao. Finally, he emphasized that this conference is an important platform for sharing scientific achievements and promoting regional cooperation. He hopes that through cross-border exchanges, they can jointly address the complex challenges in the field of neuro-oncology and enhance the global patient benefit level.

Yang Xuejun delivered two special reports during the meeting. Under the suggestion and organization of Yang Xuejun, the conference specially set up a cooperation meeting session of the International Neuro-Oncology Society. In addition, Zhang Kai, an associate chief physician in the Department of Neurosurgery at Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, and two doctoral students from Yang Xuejun's research group, Wang Xisen and Guo Jiahe, also attended the meeting and made presentations.
